This is me

Hello and nice to meet you!

My name is Mellisa and I am the creator and owner of Saltbox Scents! I am also a full time mom of 2 growing girls and a soul mate to one handsome devil named James. I work from home creating home scents,scented candles,scented tarts,home sprays and more. When I'm not making home scents, Im at my day job at a Medical Spa in the city. I live in a small town South of Boston.

I prefer the simple things in life and live a simple lifestyle.

On any given day, you could find me at the library,in a craft store,enjoying the outdoors with my family,sipping on an iced tea, playing the guitar, rummaging yard sales, street markets, local fairs,and making home scents.

I am what you would call a "moonlighter".  I get extremely mind busy after 10pm.

There are a huge number of mixologists out there in the world making drinks,perfumes,bath and body items,etc. and most of us have been self taught. This is where creativity begins..please read on!

Who comes up with these million dollar ideas like the liquid paper White out, or that tall mixed drink we call a  Long Island Iced Tea? People like you and I!!!!!

Here at Saltbox Scents we have fun with scents and home fragrance all the time. Its almost impossible to think inside the box when your mind is in a creative whirlwind. Here are a few tips on pairing the right two or three scents together for the perfect scent-sational marriage.

What do you want your product(s) to smell like?

Floral-characterized by its smooth,romantic and feminine nature

Chypre-characterized by its leathery,mossy,fresh nature

Oriental-characterized by its sensual,spicy and exotic nature

Citrus-characterized by its energizing,crisp and light nature

Foug'ere-characterized by its floral,fresh,herbaceous nature

Gourmand-characterized by its food-inspired and sweet nature

Fruity- characterized by its fresh and spicy nature

Aquatic-characterized by its fresh and light nature

Next, you be the mixologist and start creating!!

It all began with an idea and passion like many small business's but in my heart this was the right choice. Not too long ago I had picked up a book in the library about "Doing what you love".

Inside were pages of heart pumping,creative ideas.

This book definitely got my wheels spinning!

In this book, it asks:

What are the 3 things you spend most of your time & money on?

I simply answered:

(3 things I love to do)

refresh and renew my home (cleaning)

make others feel good getting creative with paper, scents, natural elements (3 things I spend most my time and money on)

making incense and candles

mixing different scents

home goods for the family to enjoy!
